Still the best 4X Fantasy Turn Based game out there. Ultimate customization for your wizard. Combined with race selection it really opens up to offer countless builds and play styles. Is the base game balanced? Hell no.

Unlike the remake, the original's AI is brutal, likely to rek you without mercy even on "Normal". Don't go for larger world sizess: allows the AI players growing stronger to apocalyptic proportions while you drown

Loved this game in 1994. Still love it today. It's got exploration, diplomacy, warfare, development, and a whole layer of magic on top that gives it incredible depth. The OG 4X game.
