Description

Boyle Wolfbane once plotted to dominate the world. Spoiler: it didn’t go well. Now exiled to the shadows of obscurity, he fills his days bickering with spectral trees and chasing off brave (or foolish) knights. His only constant? Fang, his fiercely loyal storm wolf. Sure, his empire dreams are dead—but at least he’s not a hero. Could be worse.

Expect a deeply strategic battle and menu system, tons of creatures and objects to obliterate, ignite, and gather, and relentless, wicked humor. (Zombies: laughter not guaranteed. No refunds.)

Features
  • Assemble a crew of misfit minions to support your schemes
  • Gather enchanted cheekis scattered across the realm
  • Put your talents to use by joining a city’s night watch
  • Enlist in a coven to unlock forbidden knowledge
  • Turn allies into bizarre creatures with a flick of your power
  • Uncover the secrets of mysterious mist portals and their true function

I first played Aveyond 1 back in 2006, and sort of went through the games in order, but never quite finishing them. In 2017, I decided to go through them, and learned about the 4th game that had come out recently.

A masterpiece, many years of games in the making. Every mechanic and level is so wonderfully designed and balanced. The dialogue is the wittiest slapstick writing I think I've ever seen from an RPG Maker style game.

A really great RPG and definitely ranks amongst my favourites. It's a long game with loads to do and plenty of side quests. The main character is Boyle - a retired evil lord :D who acquires various minions to fight
