Promising the Sabotage touch in every system, Sea of Stars aims to modernize the classic RPG in terms of turn-based combat, storytelling, exploration and interactions with the environment, while still offering a hearty slice of nostalgia and good old, simple fun.
Pressing the action button in sync with the animations increases damage output while reducing incoming damage. Along with timed hits, combat features multi-character combo attacks, boosting, and a strategic "locks" system offering options to play with different damage types in order to hinder enemies while they are channeling powerful attacks or spells, all in an immersive take on the genre; no random encounters, no transitions to separate battlefields, and no grinding.
Swim, climb, vault, jump off or hoist up ledges as you traverse seamlessly through the world with a navigation system based on platformer expertise that breaks free from the classic bound-to-the-grid tileset movement.
Our custom-made render pipeline allows the creation of a breathtaking world coming to life by pushing the limits of 2D pixel-art games.
Dozens of original characters and story arcs will take you on a captivating journey. Sometimes epic, sometimes silly, and other times emotional, Sea of Stars does its RPG duty of exploring classic themes of adventure and friendship, while also being chock-full of the unexpected twists and events youβd expect from a Sabotage production.
There are many ways to hang out in the world of Sea of Stars if you feel the need for a change of pace in your adventures. Sailing, cooking, fishing, stopping by a tavern to listen to a song or play the infamous tabletop game known as "Wheels".....every system has been designed to deliver an experience that pays respect to retro classics, while rethinking in some areas to offer a smooth and modernized experience.
Sea of Starsβ adventure is playable in its entirety by up to three players. Allies can drop in and out anytime to traverse the world together and master the Co-op Timed Hits combat mechanic. Also available via Steam Remote Play Together.

More of a sequel to Chrono Trigger than Chrono Cross ever was. Maybe it's not perfect, but it's as close as it gets to popping in a new SNES cartridge for a 90's RPG lover. Feels both very familiar and fresh at the same
I absolutely love this game! I loved the story, the art, and gameplay. I first found it on Nintendo switch and then re-bought it and playing through it again on the steam deck. I feel like it runs beautifully on both.
A beautifully crafted RPG adventure. Classic JRPG vibes from the 90s, but with more engaging battles. The reflex element to every attack and defense turn keeps it very enjoyable. Fantastic colors and atmosphere, too.
This game is just beautiful, the story is really good with a few unexpected twists and a lot of love, the gameplay can be hard, easy or trivial if you use the items correctly and well... just play it, here, mobile or
I really wanted to like this. the vibe is immaculate but the characters have little to no personality and the combat gets way too repetitive because you learn new techniques so rarely that theres rarely a reason to
