Description

Eternal Lords stands as the landmark second expansion for the celebrated strategy title Age of Wonders III, commemorating a full year of dedicated development following the base game's launch. Introducing two brand-new playable races — the Tigrans and Frostlings — alongside the formidable Necromancer class, players must navigate a world teetering on the edge of catastrophic upheaval. The groundbreaking Race Governance system empowers players to customize individual racial traits within their empire, unlocking fresh dimensions of strategic planning and diplomatic maneuvering. Seize these dark and forbidden powers and claim your immortal reign!

Eternal Lords Content Includes:

  • The Necromancer Player Class: Commanding vast undead legions, the Necromancer pursues the creation of an everlasting kingdom, binding all races together beneath the cold embrace of death. Players can craft remarkable undead creatures, including the Bone Collector — a horrifying crab-like abomination that consumes fallen corpses to grow ever more powerful — alongside summoned entities like the Banshee, whose wail shatters the morale of the living. Through sinister sorcery, the Necromancer transforms thriving towns into haunted cities of the dead, governed by obedient Ghoul servants.
  • Torch Bearers, Grey Guard and Shadow Born Leader Specializations: Representing the champions of Good, Neutrality, and Evil respectively, these three specializations enrich the game's alignment mechanics and equip players of every class with distinct abilities to face the trials of this new era. Master spells capable of summoning powerful Angels — endgame units that embody the very essence of their respective alignments.
  • Frostling Player Race: Born from the frozen wastelands of the far north, the Frostlings are a hardy race of humanoids commanded by their fearsome Ice Queens. They launch relentless raids into warmer territories, wielding formidable seafaring capabilities, an aggressive combat style, and devastating frost magic that terrorizes coastal settlements in their path. At their most lethal within their native arctic environment, Frostlings construct remarkable cities hewn directly into glaciers — frozen monuments to their dream of one day blanketing the entire world in ice.
  • Tigran Player Race: Originating from isolated desert territories, these feline humanoids revere the sun and hold deep reverence for the eternal cycle of day and night, life and death. Their profound fascination with necromancy and the passage of noble souls into afterlife kingdoms drives them to erect magnificent tombs of great grandeur. Tigrans possess extraordinary natural speed, outpacing all other races in combat, and their mystics harness shapeshifting magic to transform into ferocious Dire Panthers.
  • Eternal Lords Story Campaign: An sweeping conflict between the fundamental forces of existence — fire against ice, life against death. Players assume the role of Arvik, rightful heir to a shattered Frostling kingdom, who awakens dormant necromantic powers in a desperate bid to reclaim his lost realm. Along the journey, unexpected alliances will form, and players must make a defining choice between honoring their Frostling heritage or fully embracing the boundless potential of their newly discovered abilities.
  • Cosmic Happenings: The rise of the Eternal Lords has unleashed world-altering cataclysmic events capable of dramatically reshaping the balance of power. Emerging as the game unfolds, these occurrences upend even the most carefully constructed strategies while simultaneously creating openings for shrewd players to seize an edge. Events such as Falling Clouds can shroud the world in thick mist, inflicting shock vulnerability upon mechanical and armored units while drastically reducing visibility, whereas the March of the Troll King unleashes rampaging troll armies across the entire map.
  • Race Governance: Diplomatic relations are now monitored on a per-race basis, demanding thoughtful consideration before declaring hostilities. Conquering an Elven city may offer a swift military victory, but your Elven subjects certainly won't forget the aggression! As relationships with individual races flourish, players unlock exclusive racial bonuses that enhance both military strength and economic productivity.
  • Unifier Victory Condition: Upon achieving maximum Governance standing with any given race, players unlock the ability to construct a Unity Beacon within that race's cities. Successfully erecting Unity Beacons across the number of races specified in the victory conditions crowns the player as the Great Unifier and secures ultimate victory.
  • A Dozen Mysterious Map Locations: Seize control of the Reef Colony Dwelling — a haunt of terrifying deep-sea creatures — and unearth hidden treasures scattered across new sites including the foreboding Lich's Castle, the ancient Temple of the Sands, and the storied Hall of the Forefathers, each offering valuable rewards for your growing empire.
  • Plus New Hero Items, Standalone Scenarios and more! Eternal Lords incorporates extensive community feedback and arrives alongside a complimentary update introducing Play by Email asynchronous Multiplayer Mode, enabling players to engage with Age of Wonders III entirely on their own schedule. Email notifications alert you when your turn arrives, and upon launching the game, Triumph's servers automatically handle all data transmission seamlessly on your behalf.

All new content and features are fully integrated into the enhanced Random Map Generator.

Warning, this review contains the truth that most people don't like, you have been advised. Honestly, why does this have "very positive" reviews? What the hell is wrong with people? Oh yeah, people are mindless sheeps.

Best expansion in my opinion. Two quality races - Tigrans and Frostlings, both of which I don't really play but I love their unit models and their stories from the first few Age of Wonders games :) My favorite addition
