About the Game

Thronefall is a minimalist strategy game where you build a humble kingdom by day and defend it by night. Balance economy and defense by fortifying walls, recruiting troops, and charging into battle yourself to protect your stronghold from relentless waves of attackers.

Perfect for quick sessions or fortification marathons, step into a streamlined and endlessly replayable twist on tower defense!

  • 10 Maps. From the mountainous Nordfels to the vibrant Wildbach, progress through a range of maps with different terrain, weather, enemies, buildings and challenges.

  • 9 Unlockable Weapons. As a Warrior King, seize a weapon to take with you into combat, from Battleaxe to Blood Wand.

  • Over 50 Unlockable Perks. Take up to 5 perks that bestow certain advantages, and optional Mutators to ramp up the difficulty.

  • Protect your Kingdom with Walls, Barricades, Shrines and Towers.

  • Expand your economy with Houses, Bridges, Gold Mines, Harbors, Mills and Fields. These buildings grant you gold every morning – if they survive.

  • Research upgrades with the Castle Center, Blacksmith and Royal Forge.

  • Build your military with Barracks, Archery Ranges and Hero's Quarters. Your forces include Knights, Berserks, Crossbowmen, Fire Archers, and special Heroes such as Golems and Mages.

  • When night falls, an increasingly strong succession of foes threaten to overwhelm your Kingdom. The sun only rises when they're dead.

  • From wooden Barrel Knights and Flying Mages to Ogres, Slimes, Wasps and Catapults, the land is teeming with danger.

  • If your Castle Center is razed, you lose.

  • As King, lead from the vanguard and defend your little Kingdom til you see the sun rise.

Slow start, gets more exciting after most of the perks unlock. Quite challenging! Edit: I do agree with the sentiment that predetermined building types/spots feels unusually limiting. I would also advise to not bother

I love this game. This game has many MANY different ways to play like getting troops to fight for you, fighting on the front lines letting your towers and walls do the work or a mix of everything etc. There are some fun

Decent little beautiful tower defense game a la kingdom rush. Has probably the most frustrating final level of all time in the genre though as it turns from fun to unfair. Good gem of a game until then.

5.5/10 minimalist tower defense. a game to turn your brain off to. - not really about what you build in level so much as the 5 perks you went into the level with that effect the game the most - cant choose where

Nice little tower defense, interesting without being too challenging. Takes around 35 hours for all achievements, up to 50 hours if you include the custom scenarios. Very satisfying to play, and the art style is great.

An excellent game. Combination of strategy, roguelike, city builder, the game is quite easy to pick up but it doesn't hesitate to throw some serious challenges at you as you progress. But with the many varied options
