About the Game

The Land of Pain is a first-person Cosmic horror adventure, spiritual prequel to The Alien Cube.

Something strange appears in the woods. Rain pours, and darkness hangs in the air.
Life as you know it is about to change forever.

In this Lovecraftian horror adventure, you'll have to learn how to survive as you fend off a dark and disturbing evil. Explore a huge and terrifying world, flee from a unrelenting enemy, solve puzzles, and unravel the ancient mystery that's befallen this land.

  • YOU ARE UNARMED -- Your only chance of survival is to run as fast as you can, and exploit the environment to hide yourself.
  • HUGE MAP -- Explore buildings, caves, swamps, graveyards and more.
  • BEAUTIFUL VISUALS -- CryEngine-powered graphics with photogrammetric technology and ambient sound creating a fully immersive game world.
  • SOLVE & INTERACT -- Use objects to solve puzzles, and seek out clues to help unravel the mystery.
  • SHROUDED IN DARKNESS -- Use a lantern to light the way, but be careful: you'll be more vulnerable when away from the darkness...

Could have been an interesting indie horror game. Unfortunately to pad out the playtime the dev sticks in lots of stupid chase scenes where you're followed by a monster that kills you upon touch and you have no idea

Such a poorly made horror game. Right of the bat, I was greeted by an ever-present mouse cursor that never hides. The game fails to build up any atmosphere, all you get is occasional royalty free sound effects that I

The biggest issue with this one is that all the points of interest are too far apart resulting in overlong periods of nothing. Just getting to your cabin in the opening of the game itself is an exercise in tedium, and

I really enjoyed this game and can't wait to play the other games in this series. The story was pretty interesting, even when you are not into Lovecraft that much. The graphics also looked pretty nice and the best part

This is a game that left me nothing. It's a very short experience and yet it's filled with padding, mainly walking long distances to go from point A to B, with some "puzzles" even designed so you have to go back and
