5/10 While it has good presentation and thanks to the Mission Mode, replayability, it suffers from a pretty lackluster story and forgettable villians. The Gameplay, while being interesting, could have been better.
This was a weird game to rate, but I feel like the best way to explain it is: This is not a Sonic game. I mean, it is. It definitely is a Sonic game, I get it, but this feels way more of a Mario game than a Sonic game.

It starts off strong. Windy Hill is a fun opening world, and Desert Ruins and Tropical Coast are also pretty fun. Sure, the controls aren't the greatest, but it seems to be shaping off to be another fun Sonic adventure
I like the new gameplay stile that they were going for. I'm not saying that sega should swich to this stile of gameplay forever, but I still want to see another sonic game like this.
