Before/while Croteam was developing Serious Sam 3, they were working on both a new Doom and a modern military shooter, and once you have those two pieces, a lot of the design decisions begin to make sense, mind you,

Of all the Serious Sam games, this one is the most realistic in terms of visuals. You appear in modern day Egypt ravaged by Mental's minions, do battle in the ruined city, desert ruins and dark underground chambers

Just Eh. Enviroments look awful and unoriginal like they were taken from Arma or Earth Defense Force. You can hardly use the variety of weapons youre given because near the end youre forced to use only explosives. I
