The negative reviews are mostly old players proclaiming their childhood has been ruined or new players complaining the controls are too retro. Ignore them. This is a great game. This is more of a remaster than a remake.

Game constantly crashes. Autosave helps from losing a lot of progress, but along with unnecessary load times, just find a way to play the original SNES version. A real shame. Also no online co-op never made much sense.

The remake is not worthy of the original, and the interface bothered me the entire time. Choosing 3D graphics wasn't a bad idea, but it didn't work at all.

One of my favorite games of all time since playing atari 2600 to today, and this remake was amazing. I'm not a purist ao minor changes don't bother me and this veraion was every bit as nostalgic as I hoped it would be.
