Negative reviews are nearly all from before they patched the input issues. It's been resolved. Note the playtime of the negative reviews. None are more than an hour.

River City Ransom is still my favorite NES game ever, and still in the top 10 of my favorite games ever as well. The controller issue when the game came out is fixed if anyone was wondering. RC:RS is a very good

So I thought the string of controller and input issues was just bad luck but..nope. It exists. This game came out of the gate in a horrible state, and the Devs have a response of "No YOU!" to this than actually FIXING
