The All New Story
To reboot the narrative, Toxic Games brought in industry veteran Rob Yescombe, writer on franchises including CRYSIS, ALIEN: ISOLATION, STAR WARS and PS4’s upcoming RIME; winner of Best Thriller Screenplay at the Creative World Awards, and the screenwriting Award of Excellence at the Canada International Film Festival.

“The Director’s Cut is a single-location thriller” says Yescombe, “It’s about figuring out what the Qube is, and why you’re inside it. You’re told you are an astronaut inside some kind of alien structure hurtling towards Earth, but it’s also about something deeper than that.”
Under the surface, there is a subtext about games themselves – “We are conditioned to expect death and doom. We’re resigned to it. At its heart, this story is about that state of mind and how it effects the way we view our experiences, in games and in life. The Director’s Cut will feel either heroic or unnerving, depending on your own personal trust issues.”

the original version was way better in everything than the director's cut. they removed some good puzzles, expanded the story but made it worse. idk why devs are obsessed with reworking the first game. they've done it

Its a small puzzle game in the same genre as portal, talos principle and others. But the puzzles can be a bit fiddle to solve. You have no tutorials or anything that helps you. Just figure it out by yourself...

Its not PORTAL, but its not bad either. Would Rate it a 72 of 100 I had fun playing it. the white on white is just at one point annoying and the story is weird at best..you never get rly into it.

Simply perfect. I`m not a big fan of puzzle games but this stuff hits hard. The story was amazing. The puzzles itself were... alright i guess but some of them were just waaay too hard. Still a really good game

I played the OG (not the Directors Cut) back in 2012 and put 10 hours into it. Now playing the directors cut in 2026 I managed to beat the game in less than 4 hours. Was fun, rather nostalgic and some challenging

Not soo good but not soo bad. If you like puzzle games like Portal you may still don't like this one. I would proudly spend the next few hours explaining every detail that I liked and that I disliked, however I am
