Although the world of Heretical is based on linear progression, no two play runs are ever the same. Through random item drops, a multitude of skill combinations, and different play styles of each of the heroes, Heretical offers countless variations to the way you venture up to the top of Sanctora Mountain.
Sanctora Mountain, the crown jewel of Aelyndor, now exists in isolation, locked away from the rest of the world. Its ruler, the mighty Abidan, presides over the remaining populace with an iron fist, making sure he retains control over the Sanctorite mines - the source of all magic.
At the same time, a mysterious entity stands cursed and bound to a crumbling church, a reminder of the lost faith. There, he offers guidance to heroes who enter this world looking for absolution.
To enter Abidan's realm, first you have to choose one of the heroes and guide them from the Sanctuary of the Forlorn to the gates of Sanctora Manor. On this path, you'll encounter powerful bosses who will test your acquired skills to their very limits.
Should you fail, use that as a lesson for the next encounter, as well as an opportunity to help your hero permanently unlock powerful skills and unique weapons.
Great game that's been abandoned. If you're ok with an incomplete game, then it has plenty of fun to offer. Still, why support a Dev that takes the money and runs?
Dead game, Devs gave up on it. While they were active they did not spend time fixing bugs and game issues like terrible targeting, camera is crap, sound is crap from day 1, game balancing and spent their time too slowly
It's a great "proof of concept", but doesn't have enough content to call it a game. I basically finished all content in 8 hours. Zero updates and posts from devs in half a year. So seems to be abandoned.
It's an interesting roguelite Diablo X Soulslike, but it needs a lot of work. Besides fixing the bugs, the devs really need to work on optimization, camera and especially the movement + hit boxes. Otherwise this won't
Was very exited for this titel but it really let me down. The movement is horrible and soemtimes you glitch of tthe cliff when your still on the path and losing a game because of this just sucks. Cannot reccomend.Maybe
This game is actualy cool. I've played it a lot. Can recommend. It remindz me good old days with Bloodborne. Very similar. 16 hours of fun so far. Hope to see new changes and updates. It definitly cost it's price.
