Seeing as this DLC was half of the reason I got into this game, it breaks my heart to have to make this review for it. Recent updates to the game rendered half of the stuff thsi DLC brings useless or pointless, or,

This DLC doesn't seem to get much attention but it basically ruined CKII. The addition of retinues (standing armies) basically ruined most of the mechanics of the base game. This DLC made it so that your expansion was

Great DLC, shouldn't play without it. But it should be free, it adds so little to the game, I'm not sure why it isn't free anyway.

It adds a few nice events where you get to choose how you deal with the problem. You get retinues which are a huge help in war. But it's not enough. You will find the events interesting if you play the Byzantine Empire,
