Bittersweet Birthday is a story-driven action-adventure game where every fight is personal, every victory hard-earned, and every clue a step towards uncovering the truth lying somewhere inside the miasma of mysteries.
Each encounter is a one-on-one showdown with one of your nemeses. Read your enemy, master their rhythm, and adapt to their patterns that blend Souls-like precision with bullet-hell chaos. Punch, kick, block, dodge and parry your way through multiple phases that feel like a final boss each time.
Tweak the challenge to your liking through the Memory system. Memories are gameplay modifiers directly tied to the character’s pasts. They can make fights easier or harder, but never trivial.

Between fights, catch your breath in a vibrant village full of strange and endearing characters. Complete side quests, dig into local mysteries, and enjoy a surprising amount of heartfelt (and often ridiculous) downtime.
Try your hand at darts! Or well… I guess darts are partially used, at least.
Rock, paper, scissors – fighting game edition!!
Hunt down all 48 Gachapon collectibles, each one of the cool, cute, or creepy kind!
Hand-drawn pixel art and detailed backgrounds bring every memory and location to life.
Fully remappable controls with support for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC controllers.
Bittersweet Birthday mixes psychological horror, sci-fi mystery, and dry humor into a story about identity, trauma, and what it means to move forward.
Some truths are hard to remember… others, hard to forget.

I really liked this game. Good gameplay, good lore, good puzzles. Be warned, though: this is more of a narrative psychological horror game than a combat game. Expect hours of dialogue between fights. That ending was
Not the worst combat, but hugely disappointed in the story. The town was fine, but difficult to find the right npcs for side quests. The rest in a mess: A lot of things happen, with barely any rhyme or reason, with 5
I had a consistently good time during my playthrough, so I'd definitely recommend this game. The highlight of the game is in the characters and writing. There's plenty of life and personality in the world of Bittersweet
Definitely an interesting case. The battles are good and well thought out for the most part...but this isn't the main focus of the game, it's mostly story based. And it DO have a great story behind, many good plot
Unforgetable experience with "layers" of storytelling and so many plottwists. if you liked for example omoris story which in some sense is a bit similar. Be ready to not understand anything 90% of the time. 9/10 would
