Take command as the ruthless Shakarn — a cunning race of reptilian conquerors equipped with holographic camouflage technology — and systematically dismantle the final bastions of human civilization. Employ elaborate illusions and sonic deception to unravel your enemies from within, unleash overwhelming alien brutality upon them, or forge the most improbable alliances imaginable: the strategy is entirely in your hands. Choose your path wisely, however, as sudden environmental disasters can erupt at any moment and adversaries may emerge from the most unexpected quarters. The Shakarn empire stands poised to annihilate all who oppose it, yet arrogance remains your most dangerous vulnerability. Always remember — the deadliest dangers have a habit of descending from above…
New Features
● The Shakarn - Planetfall's newest playable faction redefines what it means to be cold-blooded. These calculating lizardmen can dispatch Zardas caste units concealed behind holographic disguises to impersonate and disorient opponents, or unleash the ferocious Domok units to obliterate them through sheer force.
● The Therians - This NPC faction of highly advanced warriors has fast-tracked their own evolution by splicing animal DNA into their genetic makeup. Governed by the enigmatic Deer, this rebellious militia has abandoned their homeworld to stake claim to new territories — though catching them off guard will prove no easy feat. Whether encountered as allies or adversaries, they present a formidable challenge.
● Voidbringer Invasions - Confront the ultimate end-game threat as the mysterious Voidbringers unleash trans-dimensional assault tactics, flooding your empire with waves of enslaved soldiers. Hunt down and demolish their beacons to dismantle their colossal forces, or surrender to their influence and wage conquest across the world in the void's name.
● World Events - Battles can now be dramatically disrupted by more than 20 distinct environmental catastrophes, ranging from pirate rebellions and raging superstorms to devastating solar flares. Each event demands flexible and adaptive strategies, putting every player's true mastery of Planetfall to the ultimate test.
● Additional Campaign Missions
Venture into uncharted territory as the Shakarn launch their invasion against the Egalitarian League of Planets across two brand-new campaign maps. Humanity believed it had conquered all there was to conquer, yet the vast and ever-expanding universe of Planetfall continues to reveal new frontiers…
● Conquered Worlds
In this team juggernaut-style game mode, players unite to bring down a supremely powerful kingpin. One player begins commanding a massive empire while all remaining players collaborate to dismantle their reign entirely. A word of caution to the ambitious — those accustomed to wielding the sword may soon discover what it feels like to face its edge.
This DLC is making the basegame SO MUCH WORSE! The invasions break what makes a strategy game a strategy game and do not give anything back in return. You are being kept busy, while the invaders passively destroy your
Overall: 6/10 Its more of the same, with some tweaks and improvements here and there. Diplomacy is more interesting now and espionage has also been improved. If you don't enjoy the campaign, the price will likely be too
The base game was criticised for not having enough aliens, this DLC tries to remedy this by introducing infiltrator lizards. They look ok and play interestingly but aren't really my cup of tea. I would have preferred
I love everything about this expansion... except the actual invasion part. It's like "nightmare" mode in old Doom- it should come with a warning that reads "are you sure? This isn't even close to fair." When the
Overall really good expansion. Shakarn are really interesting to play. Therians are funny and have some comic relief missions. Voidbringers seriously spiced up the end game. I was on the road to a clean win when they
If you're going to play Age Of Wonders: Planetfall - you NEED this DLC. Not only does it add a good race, a formidable faction, and some quests - but it also adds the most annoying 'world events' in history. I mean...
