Description

The Blightstorm shows no signs of abating, and Against the Storm - Nightwatchers throws fresh challenges into the mix. This expansion delivers a brand-new species, two uncharted biomes, additional buildings, deeds, world events, and a wealth of new options for every Viceroy locked in the relentless battle for survival. The Bats arrive carrying deep metallurgical knowledge and an uncompromising attitude toward weakness — when their allies stumble, these creatures only grow more determined.

As brazen smugglers begin openly defying the Scorched Queen, the treacherous Rocky Ravines open their jagged gates to brave settlers. Barren yet mineral-rich, these unforgiving lands replace forests with towering basalt columns, forcing Viceroys to lean heavily on black market connections just to keep their communities alive.

For those preferring greener horizons, the Bamboo Flats offer a lusher alternative — though not without their own complications. Relentless rainfall strips the earth of its fertility, and settlers must carefully cultivate a relationship with the Fluffbeak, a peculiar native creature. Keep this unusual beast content, and it will reward the settlement with generous quantities of fertilizer, letting the Viceroy strategically enrich the land and build toward a lasting future.

Against the Storm - Nightwatchers includes:

  • Forged in the isolation of subterranean halls, the Bats are a new playable species defined by their intolerance for weakness and their mastery of metalwork. Disciplined, devoted, and ready to make sacrifices for the collective cause, they come equipped with a unique starting ability that unlocks the Manorial Court blueprint. This powerful tool allows Viceroys to exile a member of any chosen species — a severe measure that sharpens the resolve of those who remain, driving them to work harder in the Queen's name.

  • The Rocky Ravine biome is a punishing environment where stone replaces timber and survival demands cunning. With wood in short supply and prices constantly shifting, Viceroys must skillfully trade their abundant stone and amber reserves through the Black Market. However, these underground dealers are not charitable partners — they expect prompt repayment of debts and will not hesitate to become a liability if their patience runs out.

  • Establishing roots in the Bamboo Flats means forming an unlikely bond with the oversized Fluffbeak. Perpetual rainfall has left the region's soil all but barren, but this remarkable creature generates fertilizer in abundance, enabling settlers to cultivate fertile patches of land from scratch. Tend to the Fluffbeak's basic needs — food, water, and warmth — and it becomes more than a resource; it transforms into a beloved village mascot whose presence lifts the spirits and productivity of the entire settlement.

  • 3 new World Map Modifiers introduce increasingly punishing terrain. From the cramped waterways of the Riverlands to sacred ancient sites watched over by silent stone guardians that cap available Cornerstones, Viceroys will need to think creatively to conquer each new obstacle.

  • 3 new World Events shake up the campaign in dramatic ways — a rising criminal empire, volatile alchemical experiments threatening to upend carefully laid plans, and a voracious tree-devouring beast that rips open glades and exposes their hidden contents on its own schedule. Navigate these events skillfully to earn powerful temporary advantages, including woodcutting automatons and the new Fuel Rod resource, which doubles Rain Engine output.

  • The expansion also adds 3 new Legendary Cornerstones, 16 new Deeds, and 6 new Decorations, along with fresh rewards woven into the upgrade tree of the Smoldering City.

  • The two new biomes will begin appearing on the world map once the current cycle concludes. Bats become available as a playable species upon reaching level 11.

  • 27 new musical tracks have been composed to reflect the ever-expanding world of Against the Storm.

Drive the weak from your ranks and march into ever more hostile territory in the Scorched Queen's name — with the Bats standing beside you, there is simply no place for those who lack the will to endure.

I wouldn't unbuy it, but I can't recommend it. As much as I love the game, this DLC simply offers no reason (besides a few games for kicks) to come back if you have 100s of hours already. Not really sure who this DLC

I'm a big fan of against the storm and i'm telling you not to get this. Compared to the keepers of the stone DLC, this was very disappointing. The bats themselves don't bring much to the gameplay, exceling at nothing

Same as with the previous DLC, this one just adds more content that feels like it should have been baked into the base game. If you are just starting, and want to make the game "complete", it is worth buying. You can

It’s a good DLC. Do you need it to enjoy the game? No vanilla is pretty good. The new race is cool, the new biomes are cool, and it just gives more of a game we all love. Should I be recommending a DLC over another I’d

The new biomes are the stars of Against the Storm: Nightwatchers. Bats are fine; they're powerful, but difficult to keep happy, and their passive (a building where you can evict villagers to raise the resolve of the
