Description

The Blightstorm shows no signs of relenting, and Against the Storm - Nightwatchers answers the call with a bold expansion of possibilities. A brand-new species enters the struggle, accompanied by two fresh biomes, additional buildings, deeds, world events, and much more for any Viceroy hungry for new tools in an unending fight against the storm. The Bats arrive carrying centuries of metallurgical mastery and an uncompromising contempt for frailty – hardship only sharpens their resolve, and when their allies stumble, the Bats dig in deeper.

As black market smugglers grow brazen enough to challenge the Scorched Queen's authority, a rugged new frontier opens its gates: the Rocky Ravines. These desolate, mineral-rich badlands offer ore in abundance, but little else. Settlers carving out a life among jagged stone formations will find themselves dependent on underground traders, harvesting towering basalt columns where forests once stood.

For those drawn to greener horizons, the Bamboo Flats offer a lush yet treacherous alternative. Relentless rainfall has stripped the earth of its fertility, and survival here hinges on forging an unlikely partnership with the Fluffbeak – a peculiar creature native to this soggy ecosystem. Keep this beast content, and it will reward settlers with a steady supply of fertilizer, letting the Viceroy strategically enrich the land and cultivate a thriving community from the waterlogged earth.

Against the Storm - Nightwatchers includes:

  • The Bats are a newly playable species shaped by generations of subterranean hardship – stoic, disciplined, and unforgiving of failure. Their proficiency with metalwork and their willingness to sacrifice for the collective make them formidable colonists. Unlock the Bats' starting ability to gain access to the Manorial Court blueprint, a tool that allows you to banish a member of a chosen species. Harsh as it sounds, this act of punishment ignites renewed determination in those who remain, driving them to toil harder beneath the banner of the Scorched Queen.

  • The Rocky Ravine biome is a punishing terrain where stone replaces timber and survival demands resourcefulness. With wood in short supply and prices on the Black Market constantly shifting, you'll need to think shrewdly – converting your reserves of stone and amber into the goods your settlement desperately needs. But tread carefully: these underground merchants are opportunists first and allies second. Miss a payment, and your most useful partners can swiftly become your most dangerous enemies.

  • Tame the Bamboo Flats with an unconventional companion at your side. The ceaseless downpour has rendered the soil barren, but the colossal Fluffbeak holds the key to restoration – capable of producing fertilizer in great quantities to transform infertile patches into productive farmland. Monitor the creature's hunger, hydration, and warmth to maintain its wellbeing, and it will repay you not only with agricultural bounty but with a morale boost among your villagers, who find renewed spirit in their beloved settlement mascot.

  • 3 new World Map Modifiers introduce punishing conditions for Viceroys to conquer. Navigate the cramped waterways of the Riverlands, or venture into ancient sites still overseen by silent sentinels that cap the number of Cornerstones at your disposal – forcing creative problem-solving under strict new constraints.

  • 3 new World Events shake up the familiar rhythm of settlement life. A rising criminal syndicate tightens its grip on the region, volatile alchemical experiments threaten to upend your carefully constructed plans, and a ravenous tree-devouring creature tears open glades on its own schedule – exposing whatever secrets lie within, ready or not. Turn these disruptions to your advantage and claim powerful temporary rewards, from automated woodcutting machines to the new Fuel Rod resource that doubles your Rain Engine's output.

  • 3 new Legendary Cornerstones, 16 new Deeds, and 6 new Decorations have been woven into the experience, alongside fresh rewards added to the upgrade tree within the Smoldering City.

  • The two new biomes will begin appearing on the world map once the current cycle concludes. Bats become available as a playable species upon reaching level 11.

  • 27 new musical tracks have been composed to capture the ever-expanding world of Against the Storm.

Cast aside mercy and press forward into the storm's harshest reaches in loyal service to the Scorched Queen – with the Bats marching alongside you, there is no place left for hesitation or weakness.

I wouldn't unbuy it, but I can't recommend it. As much as I love the game, this DLC simply offers no reason (besides a few games for kicks) to come back if you have 100s of hours already. Not really sure who this DLC

I'm a big fan of against the storm and i'm telling you not to get this. Compared to the keepers of the stone DLC, this was very disappointing. The bats themselves don't bring much to the gameplay, exceling at nothing

Same as with the previous DLC, this one just adds more content that feels like it should have been baked into the base game. If you are just starting, and want to make the game "complete", it is worth buying. You can

It’s a good DLC. Do you need it to enjoy the game? No vanilla is pretty good. The new race is cool, the new biomes are cool, and it just gives more of a game we all love. Should I be recommending a DLC over another I’d

The new biomes are the stars of Against the Storm: Nightwatchers. Bats are fine; they're powerful, but difficult to keep happy, and their passive (a building where you can evict villagers to raise the resolve of the
