The Frogs have answered the call, bringing their mastery of stonecraft and deep affinity for water to bolster your settlements. Elsewhere, shifting tides have opened long-sealed paths to the Coastal Groves — ancient, flood-drowned territories brimming with hidden riches that have waited through countless storms to be reclaimed. Remote and difficult to access, these submerged ruins promise great rewards to those daring enough to seek them. At the same time, the Ashen Thicket beckons — a once-flourishing woodland stripped bare by unchecked industry, its broken landscape scattered with relics of a forgotten era, yearning for a Viceroy skilled enough to breathe life back into it.
Welcome the proud and resourceful Frogs into your growing settlements. Leverage their exceptional stone masonry skills, their natural comfort in rainfall, and their innate talent for drawing new citizens to your cause at an accelerated pace.
Shelter is no trivial matter for the Frogs — unwilling to settle for standard housing, they insist on purpose-built Frog Houses constructed to their exacting standards. These dwellings feature four distinct upgrade levels, each introducing meaningful changes to how the housing functions, making their development a vital priority when conditions grow desperate.
Venture into the new Coastal Grove biome, where your settlement begins at the water's edge, cut off from the reliable support of royal envoys and their advantages. In their place, the biome-exclusive Strider Port becomes your lifeline — a facility that dispatches expeditions into the surrounding floodwaters in search of sunken treasures. Each voyage simply demands a food supply for the Water Strider and its rider; invest more generously, and the quality of your discoveries improves accordingly, offering a fresh and dynamic method of uncovering new building blueprints.
Test your resolve in the new Ashen Thicket biome, a wasteland scarred equally by rampant industrial exploitation and the relentless Blightstorm. Scattered across this desolate terrain are Thunderblight Shards — rare, lightning-charged crystals that demand significant resources to extract. These shards are essential for crafting Cornerstones at the biome's exclusive Cornerstone Forge. With only a finite number of crafting opportunities available, every decision carries weight — you may opt to accept penalties in exchange for amplified rewards, making each choice a calculated gamble.
The upgrade tree in the Smoldering City gains new rewards tailored to the Frog species, alongside 3 new Legendary Cornerstones, 1 new Epic Cornerstone, 3 new Rare perks, and 5 new Uncommon perks expanding your strategic options.
Take on 12 new orders inspired by the Frogs and their distinctive abilities, challenging Viceroys to upgrade Frog Houses, grow their Frog populations, address their particular needs, and capitalize on the strengths this species uniquely brings to your settlements.
Both new biomes will appear on the world map once the current cycle concludes. To unlock the Frogs as a playable species, players must first reach level 9.
Immerse yourself in a revitalized soundscape featuring 28 newly composed tracks, crafted to capture the distinct atmosphere, dangers, and allure of both the Coastal Grove and Ashen Thicket biomes.
Carry out the Scorched Queen's will across uncharted territories and unprecedented challenges, with a powerful new species standing beside you. With these keepers of the stone in your corner, the tide against the Blightstorm — and the ruin it carries — may finally begin to turn.
20$ CAD for this is abysmal. Also 12 bux CAD on steam sale was abysmal. I got maybe 2h of gameplay out of the new zone and frogs. They dont do anything new to the gameplay in any meaningful way. This couldve been a free
I love Against the Storm but this DLC and the new one... They are too expensive and they don't extend the game, not more seals or story or nothing. I would write this comment on the other DLC but I requested a refund.
i wish this dlc was more thought out, they nerfed a base game race to make the frogs more useful. So technically it's a pay to win dlc, and the new map while an interesting shape the treasure hunts are more simple then
Great DLC, frogs are a solid albeit slightly more awkward race to work with and the new maps are very unique, the Ashen Thicket in particular is one of my favorites. Much like everyone else is saying though, the DLC is
I bought the DLC to support the devs since I love the base game. However, the additions brought by the DLC are insignificant, and feel more like content that should have been in the base game from the start but was left
Against the Storm is one of my favorite games of all time, and I'll always support its developers. The amount of engagement and effort they put in the base game, with all the free updates that were released after early
