Description

Set against the colorful backdrop of Jakarta, Indonesia's bustling capital, Afterlove EP is a genre-blending experience that weaves together visual novel storytelling, narrative adventure, and rhythm gameplay — brought to life by the creative mind behind Coffee Talk and What Comes After.

You play as Rama, a young and passionate musician who finds himself emotionally paralyzed in the wake of losing his girlfriend, Cinta, to death.

Despite the unwavering support of his closest friends and fellow bandmates who are all pushing him forward, Rama has spent over a year frozen in grief — letting his music, mental well-being, and personal connections fall into neglect.

To complicate matters further, Rama keeps hearing Cinta's voice echoing in his mind — leaving him questioning whether she lingers as a spirit or exists only within his imagination.

The clock is ticking — Rama's band has a major performance lined up just one month away. He must get back on track, deliver the songs he has long promised, or risk being left behind as the band pushes forward without him.

Across twenty-eight days and nights, every decision you make will chart the course of Rama's journey. Wander through the city's streets, choose which bonds to mend and which new connections to forge. Confront unresolved grief, rediscover your artistic spark, and guide Rama toward building a life worth living.

Uncover the living, breathing world of contemporary Jakarta through side-scrolling exploration, dive into heartfelt and layered conversations with the characters you choose to connect with, and feel the rhythm come alive as you jam alongside your bandmates in dedicated music gameplay sections.

A proud product of Indonesia's thriving indie game development movement, Afterlove EP is crafted to offer players an honest and immersive glimpse into the realities of modern urban Indonesian life.

Rooted in the very streets of Jakarta where many of the developers have called home, the game showcases the striking manga-influenced artwork of celebrated Indonesian artist Soyatu alongside an original score composed by Indonesian indie outfit L'Alphalpha.

ABOUT THE DEVELOPER

A creator well-acquainted with emotionally resonant storytelling, Afterlove EP stands as the final work of celebrated narrative designer, writer, and developer Mohammad Fahmi, who tragically passed away in March 2022 at just 32 years old.

Pikselnesia is an Indonesian indie development studio that Fahmi himself established specifically for the Afterlove EP project. Following his untimely passing, the dedicated team made a solemn commitment to see the game through to completion and honor his original vision.

Operating entirely remotely with members scattered across Indonesia, the team brings a wealth of experience from titles such as A Space for the Unbound, What Comes After, and Hello Good Boy.

A beautifully hand drawn game about love, loss, and moving on. Actually, there is very little game play, so interactive visual novel is probably a better way to describe AfterLove EP. My only issue with the game is it

The game took around 10 hours to finish. A coming-of-age story at heart, the theme is tackled with all the care and consideration you'd want in any experience. The characters are flawed but with their own aspirations,

From the get-go, I can tell this game is not for me. Artstyle is great, music is too. My biggest issues are two things: the juvenile writing and Cinta. I don't know if I'm snobbish or just imagining it, but the writing

Hands down my favorite sleeper hit this year. The storytelling is phenomenal and relationships feel really natural. Music is excellent and the story has really stuck with me even months later. Do yourself a favor and
