Read moreStranded on a barren, uncharted planetoid following a catastrophic crash landing, you must guide a team of four unique explorers through the struggle for survival while piecing together a path back home. Adaptory blends intricate physics-driven simulation with base construction and exploration. As your crew ventures deeper underground, bonds are forged, obstacles multiply, and the mission to repair the ship may soon be overshadowed by the secrets lurking within this seemingly lifeless world.

Every crew member is a one-of-a-kind individual, procedurally generated fresh at the start of every playthrough. Keeping them alive means ensuring they can breathe, eat, stay warm, remain healthy, and maintain their sanity. Each explorer brings a personal set of skills, quirks, and viewpoints they freely express to their fellow crew members. Their journal entries and candid conversations are woven directly into the narrative and the mechanics, offering valuable insight into how to make the most of their abilities in a punishing environment.

The wreckage of your ship offers temporary refuge, buying your crew precious time. But long-term survival demands constructing a fully functional base and cultivating a tight-knit community capable of weathering any storm. Your explorers need spaces to rest, eat, clean up, recover from injuries, and socialize to keep spirits from crumbling. You'll need to manage heat distribution, infrastructure connections, and plumbing systems — and that's only scratching the surface. As the base expands and your responsibilities pile up, your crew size remains fixed, making automation not just helpful but absolutely essential.

Beneath the surface, Adaptory operates on advanced physics and chemistry engines that model gravity, heat transfer, density, viscosity, and phase transitions across nearly fifty distinct materials to discover and manipulate. Turn these systems to your advantage. Seeking a power source? Deploy solar arrays to harvest sunlight, superheat water with molten rock to drive steam generators, or redirect natural gas flows to fuel turbines. Just keep in mind: every run is a freshly generated world, complete with its own unpredictable set of challenges.

No two playthroughs unfold the same way. Meteor bombardments, violent solar flares, and seismic events can wreak havoc on your base — yet they can simultaneously open doors to opportunity, exposing rare materials, hidden ore veins, or long-buried artifacts, provided your team survives long enough to capitalize. Even when your infrastructure holds firm against disaster, the psychological toll on your crew members can fracture relationships or push an individual past their breaking point. How will you adapt? Will you even make it?

Adaptory tells a self-contained story set against the backdrop of a far grander universe. Glimpses of that larger world emerge through crew diary entries, artifacts uncovered deep within the planetoid, system logs, and overheard conversations. From the history of the crew's home planet and the origins of their deep-space mission to the unsettling truth of what went wrong, unravel a compelling science-fiction narrative penned by award-winning author Cassandra Tse.
Adaptory is an ambitious undertaking that weaves together base-building, true-to-life simulation, emergent storytelling, character progression, and procedurally generated events into a single cohesive experience. Active development continues with consistent updates as we push toward version 1.0, incorporating new systems and mechanics shaped by player feedback. Currently not worth the money. There is absolutely no content yet, even for EA. It certainly has potential and it might become a decent game over time, but just wait a year or two and see where this goes (if it does)
This game is excellent. My two all time favs are ONI & Rimworld so it's fantastic to find another game which is similar and inspired by these but has it's own unique gameplay. I disagree with any negative comments
This game has a lot of potential. It reminds me a lot of Oxygen Not Included. There are things in this game that I prefer in the game mechanics, while some I dont. It has a good/interesting storyline so far. I cant wait
the AI kills itself more then it should, even gold fish kill themself less even with the perfect setup. you can lose the playthrew because they dont stand on the blok next to it to mine. just go stand on top and drop to
Unfinished game. Game lacks momentum to keep me interested. I understand that its an early release but Devs failed to put in sufficient game play in it. I would recommend others not to purchase until game has more
When I finished the current content, I admit I was disappointed. As other's have stated, all research can be completed in a couple of hours (far less when you figure out how). The storyline and what you're INSTRUCTED to
